Absences & Collection
We are committed to providing a comprehensive education for all pupils. We believe that all pupils benefit from the education we provide, and therefore from regular school attendance. To this end, we will do as much as we can to ensure that all pupils achieve maximum possible attendance and that any issues, which may impede full attendance, are acted upon as quickly as possible.
Our gate opens at 8.30am giving pupils time to settle into their day with tasks set for them to complete before and during registration, the gate will close at 8.45am, arrivals after this time will need to enter school via the main entrance.
Registers will close at 8:55am; any child arriving after that will be marked as late
Collection at the end of the day
Foundation & KS1 parents wait outside the Foundation play area
KS2 wait on the main playground
The children will be dismissed by an adult to you from their classroom
If your child is ill, please keep them at home until they are well enough to return to school. Please notify us by phone call or email before 9.30am if your child is to be absent, and continue to keep us informed on how they are doing
We believe good attendance is when children attend at least 97% of the school year. This equates to attending at least 185 of the 190 days when school is open to pupils. This is only 5 days off for the full academic year. As a school, we will only authorise term time holidays in exceptional circumstances. We monitor attendance regularly. If your child’s attendance drops below 90%, under Government guidelines, this means that they are classed as a ‘persistent absentee’ and we will write to you to invite you to discuss the reasons for this.
If, when coming to pick your child up from school, you are running late, we ask that you ring the school office on 01777 703736 to inform us of this and when you can be expected at the school
Your child will be waiting at main reception for your arrival
Not you collecting today...
Please name the person who will be collecting your child on your behalf. We may ask you for a description of the individual that you have stated if they are unknown to the school. Additionally, we may request that a password is put in place, for us to ask the individual who comes to collect your child. Pupils of the school will not be released from the school unless staff are completely satisfied that they are safe
